Our favourite winter activities

The coldest season for some just happens to be one of our favourites here atMount Edgecombe Village. Thanks to a convenient location, wonderful Durban weather and, of course, fantastic facilities, our residents get to make the most of winter. Here are a few of our favourite things to do during this time of the year…

A Wetlands Walk

Winter mornings are especially beautiful when you live at Mount Edgecombe Village. Although a little chillier than usual, our wetlands strolls give us a chance to enjoy some sunshine, fresh air and our lush green surroundings. Our residents walk as a group, allowing them to chat, spend time together and spot a few birds too.

Stretch and Tone classes

Our residents know that staying fit and healthy is an effort that’s best made 365 days a year, regardless of the season. It’s why RiAnne still hosts her Stretch and Tone classes in our community herb garden to ensure that our people keep things moving. With numerous benefits to be gained from regular stretching, it’s no wonder this class has several regulars.

Live music at our Care Centre

Few things beat a good coffee (or wine) with our favourite “music man” Dave Monks at the Care Centre. His frequent visits and performances are best enjoyed with a table of friends, an awesome lunch and even some dancing. You have been warned!

A gathering in the Hilltop Lounge

From burger braais to cooking demonstrations, our new Clubhouse has seen some wonderful events. Now that winter is here, we look forward to even more occasions where our people can come together. We’re thinking of wine tastings, potjie evenings and even book clubs. With this venue at the heart of our Village, residents are free to book the Hilltop Lounge for their own private events or simply attend the ones we host regularly.
